Planning your room
A man cave can bring several interests together, but the layout works better when one comes first. Give the main activity the space it needs, then see what else fits comfortably.
For watching sport or gaming, start with the screen and seats. For a collection, work from the display and storage. If the bar is the centre of the room, leave enough space to serve and sit without blocking the doors.
A pool table or golf simulator needs its own equipment clearances. Check those before choosing the building, rather than assuming a large footprint will be enough.

Our core range includes PIR insulation, electrics and laminate flooring. You can discuss optional partition walls if you want a separate area, and choose from the available doors and finishes. Heating and connectivity are optional; foundation supply and installation are optional too.

Signature includes SIP construction, electrics and foundation supply and installation. It is a useful route if you want more of the building project included from the outset, with the layout and finish agreed around you.
Turnkey describes the building package. Your games equipment, furniture and entertainment system need their own agreed scope.
Draw the room with the furniture in use. A recliner takes more room when open, a stool moves away from the bar, and a table needs access around it. Those are the dimensions that decide whether the layout works.
Think about how the space will be shared. A games area beside the television may suit the way you socialise. If one person wants a quieter corner, discuss a separate zone or an optional partition on Garden Rooms or Signature.
Check the finished internal dimensions with us, including headroom wherever your equipment needs it.
A display wall, shelves for records or storage for controllers can make the space feel settled rather than crowded. Include their depth in the plan so the room still has a clear route through it.
Tell us if you intend to hang a large screen, heavy shelves or other substantial items. Fixing locations and support requirements belong in the building brief before the walls are finished.
Choose glazing with those walls in mind. A garden view is welcome, but so is a clear place for the things that make the room yours.
List the devices you want to use, from the television and console to a fridge or powered games equipment. Think about where sockets and cables will be useful once the furniture is in position.
Garden Rooms and Signature include an internal electrical package. Connectivity is an optional feature on both ranges, so discuss what your streaming or online gaming setup needs. Connection of the garden room to the main property electrical supply is not included unless expressly stated within the quotation. This work can be quoted separately if required, subject to a site survey and the requirements of our electrical contractor.
Heating and air conditioning are optional too. We will help you work those choices into the brief for the hours you expect to spend out here.

We make our buildings in Telford and arrange delivery and installation for your project. Ask us to confirm eligibility for free delivery and installation within 150 miles of Telford. Our 10-year structural guarantee is subject to its terms. Electrical work is carried out through qualified electrical contractors.
Common questions
Start with your largest activity, then add the furniture and access space around it. A sofa and television need a different layout from a pool table. Give us the equipment's operating clearances so we can discuss a suitable internal size.
You can plan a shared room, provided both have enough usable space. Keep the route to the door clear when stools are pulled out or a game is in progress. For a bar-led project, our Garden Bars page will help with the serving layout.
A flexible layout can leave space for a future desk. Consider daylight, sockets and the position of fixed furniture now if you expect the use to change. Our Garden Office page covers the decisions that matter for regular home working.
Discuss the exact system and the clearance it requires before choosing a building. Room height, swing space, screen position and access all need checking against your setup. The Cardiff case study is an example of an individual project, not a guarantee that a standard room fits every simulator.
A separate building changes where the activity happens, but it does not guarantee sound isolation. Tell us about music, gaming or other noisy uses at the start. Any acoustic performance requirement needs to be agreed for your specific project.
