Soundproofing
Garden room soundproofing starts with the right question
Do you want the room to sound less echoey inside, or do you need to reduce the sound travelling out to other people? Those are different requirements.
Acoustic panelling is an optional interior finish, and many people choose it as a feature wall as much as for the sound. It should not be treated as a promise that a garden room will be soundproof.

Specification & options
A softer sound inside the room
Acoustic wall panelling helps absorb sound that would otherwise reflect around the room. It can make a space feel less echoey for conversation, calls or listening to music.
This is acoustic treatment, not sound isolation. It does not establish how much sound can pass through the walls, doors and windows to other people.

Where the option is listed
Acoustic panelling is optional on Garden Rooms, Signature and Granny Annexes. It is not listed for Garden Buildings or Pods.
Ask us to identify the actual panel product, intended purpose and proposed coverage. No particular acoustic result should be assumed from its appearance.

Specification & options
A feature wall with a practical purpose
Choose brown or charcoal acoustic panels to add texture behind a desk, sofa or screen. The slatted finish can become a feature of the room while also softening reflected sound.
You can select the available wall finishes wall by wall, rather than using the same surface throughout.
Next steps
Match the treatment to the activity
A less echoey room and a sound-isolated music studio need different solutions. Tell us whether you are planning everyday calls, recording or amplified music so the requirement is clear from the start.
If containing sound is essential, a specialist assessment is needed. We do not promise a building-level decibel reduction from decorative panelling.
Common questions
Acoustic questions
Will acoustic panels stop neighbours hearing music?
That cannot be assumed. Interior treatment is not the same as sound isolation.
Are SIPS automatically soundproof?
No verified sound-isolation result follows from the construction name alone.
Can you promise a decibel reduction?
A numerical claim would need evidence for the relevant product and complete arrangement. Discuss the requirement before ordering.
Can I still choose panelling for its appearance?
Yes. Many customers use acoustic panelling as a feature wall, not just for soundproofing. Ask about the available finishes, while keeping any acoustic expectations separate from the visual choice.
