Cedar

Cedar garden rooms: the natural finish

A cedar clad garden room is the one people photograph. Western red cedar has a warm colour and a tight, straight grain, and every board is slightly different, so a cedar garden room or cedar garden office looks hand-finished because it is.

Cedar is available across all five Noah ranges. Left untreated it silvers over a few years; oiled, it keeps its colour. Tell us the elevations you want in cedar and the finish you prefer and we will build it that way in Telford.

Specification & options

Natural warmth and individual grain

Cedar brings warm tones and natural grain to the exterior. Variation between boards gives the elevation character rather than a completely uniform finish.

It needs little routine care. Leave it to weather towards silver-grey, or use the recommended oil treatment to help retain its warmer colour.

How cedar compares

Is cedar cladding right for your garden room?

Each of our claddings has its own strengths. Choose what to compare, and see how cedar sits alongside the others, so you can pick the finish that suits your garden, your budget and the care you have in mind.

We also offer brick effect and the Grey SIP finish. Compare all seven claddings.

Choosing your range

Where is cedar available?

Cedar is listed as a cladding choice for Garden Buildings, Garden Pods, Garden Rooms, Signature and Granny Annexes.

It is not automatically the finish supplied with Signature or an Annexe. Your quotation should state the selected cladding, its coverage and the price.

Specification & options

A feature elevation or an all-round finish

Cedar can draw attention to the entrance or the side you see most from the house. You can also choose it across more of the building for a consistent timber exterior.

We agree the coverage with your design, including the detailing around doors, windows and corners, so the finished elevations work together.

Next steps

Real timber with less routine upkeep

Cedar is a natural-wood choice for customers who do not want the painting routine of ordinary timber cladding. Its colour changes as it weathers unless you maintain an appropriate oil finish.

Compare a cedar sample with Thermowood and composite at the showroom to decide which appearance and care routine suit you.

Common questions

Cedar cladding questions

Is cedar included with Signature?

Cedar is a choice to confirm in the quotation. Do not assume the finish shown in an example is included with every Signature building.

Will cedar change colour?

It can weather towards silver-grey. Discuss the finish and care approach if you want to retain a particular appearance.

Does choosing cedar make the room insulated?

No. Insulation follows the building specification. Cedar can also be selected for our non-insulated Garden Buildings range.

Can you quote for cedar on selected sides?

Tell us the coverage you have in mind. We can discuss the arrangement available for your chosen building and confirm it in the quotation.
